Question
Chapter 8, Problem 6P
Summary Introduction
To examine: Whether the statement, “After a sudden increase in transcription, a protein with a slow rate of degradation will reach a new steady state level more quickly than a protein with a rapid rate of degradation.” is true or false.
Concept introduction:
Protein synthesis process occurs in the ribosome of the cell. This process continues with two steps: transcription and translation. In transcription process the information encoded in DNA was taken and it encodes into messenger RNA (mRNA), which comes out of the cell nucleus and into the cytoplasm. In translation process the mRNA works in presence of ribosome and transfer RNA (tRNA) to synthesize proteins.
