Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

An intermetallic compound, the difference from other compounds needs to be explained. The difference between TiAl and ${\text{Al}}_{\text{2}}{\text{O}}_{\text{3}}$ other than composition needs to be explained.

Concept Introduction:

A compound is a chemical substance comprising of many similar molecules that contribute atoms from more than one element that are structured together by chemical bonds.

Compounds are categorized as four types with respect to the atomic bonding of constituents:

1. Covalent bonds
2. Ionic compounds
3. Intermetallic compounds
4. Co-ordinate covalent bonds.
