How motivation seems to be high and turnover seems to be low at mars, using the two-factor theory of Herzberg explain.
Introduction:
Herzberg’s two factor theory, on hygiene factors and motivators which leads to satisfaction and dissatisfaction. Hygiene factors are working conditions, company policies, pay and interpersonal relationships. When these hygiene factors are poor, work becomes dissatisfying. Good hygiene factors lead to removing dissatisfaction.
Motivators, they are the other part of Herzberg motivating factors and they focus on achievement, recognition, opportunity for growth, responsibilities and etc. this causes employees to become motivated. However, hygiene factors result in removing dissatisfaction but it does not help motivate the employee.
