Question
Chapter 13, Problem 54SA
Summary Introduction
To review:
The function of the ferredoxin–thioredoxin system in the regulation of photosynthesis process.
Introduction:
The regulation of photosynthesis is important for ensuring that plants adapt to environmental conditions. The light control of photosynthesis involves changing the activities of various key enzymes for mediation. The light affects the enzymes through indirect mechanisms. One such mechanism is the ferredoxin–thioredoxin system. Thioredoxins are small proteins, which when reduced, alter the activity of several enzymes involved in photosynthesis.
