Summary Introduction

To review:

The role of the following during photosynthesis:

a. Plastocyanin

b. β-Carotene

c. Ferredoxin

d. Plastoquinone

e. Pheophytina

f. Lutein

Introduction:

Photosynthesis is the process of producing food in the form of sugar by green plants, cyanobacteri, and some Protists. It is a light-driven biochemical mechanism as it requiresenergy from sunlight to synthesize ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and NADPH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate) in the form of energy. In this proces, sarbon dioxide is incorporated into organic molecule, glucose. This process takes place inside the photosystems (membrane-bound protein complex in chloroplast) in plants.
