Introduction:
Placenta is a structure which develops in females’ uterus during pregnancy. It provides oxygen and nutrients to the growing fetus. The placenta is attached to the wall of the uterus and the umbilical cord arises from it. It helps in nutrient uptake, thermoregulation, and gas exchange via the mother’s blood supply.
