Interpretation:

When the given compound is heated to ${\text{700 }}^{\text{o}}\text{C}$, a product with the formula ${\text{C}}_{\text{4}}{\text{H}}_{\text{6}}$ is collected. The structure of ${\text{C}}_{\text{4}}{\text{H}}_{\text{6}}$ is to be drawn and the mechanism for the same reaction that accounts for its product formation is to be drawn.

Concept introduction:

Diels-Alder reaction is reversible at high temperature, and this process is called a retro Diels-Alder reaction. The mechanism for this reaction is the reverse of a Diels-Alder mechanism i.e. the entire six-membered ring breaks-down into the corresponding diene and dienophile.
