Question
Chapter 24, Problem 2TYR
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Sodium (Na+) ions regulate the depolarization of nervous and muscular systems. Increased concentration of Na+ promotes the osmolarity of blood plasma. Reabsorption of water and Na+ ions are inhibited by the natriuretic peptides. Natriuretic peptides inhibit the secretion of ADH and renin, and thereby it promotes excretion of more water and Na+ ions and reduces the blood pressure.
