Question
Chapter 24, Problem 10WWTS
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The reduced volume of blood and increased concentration of sodium ions is observed in dehydration. The increased blood osmolarity or decreased blood volume promotes the hypothalamus, which stimulates the release of antidiuretic hormone (ADH) by the posterior pituitary gland. In turn, the ADH communicates with the cerebral cortex resulting in induction of a sense of thirst.
