To discuss:
The nutrients that are not digested but simply absorbed; special aspects of the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and vitamin B12.
Introduction:
Some nutrients can be absorbed without digestion, while some are not. A few nutrients are available in directly usable form in the food consumed. Nutrients absorbed without digestion are free amino acids, vitamins, minerals, water, and cholesterol. Pumpkin, leafy greens, and soybeans are some of the amino acid–rich foods. Vitamins are predominantly present in milk, liver, and egg etc. Whole grains, nuts, and leafy grains are some of the foods rich in minerals.
