Chapter 26, Problem 20TYR
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The NADH and FADH2 enter into the inner mitochondrial membrane and transport the electrons in the electron transport chain and produce H2O from oxygen and also produce ATP molecules. An electron transport molecule has four enzyme complexes that are used for the transfer of enzyme molecules for the production of ATP and water molecules.

Cyanide is a poison that works by inhibiting cytochrome c oxidase, which is a protein that uses oxygen to increase the concentration of hydrogen ions across the mitochondrial membrane. Using what you know from this unit, explain why consuming cyanide is lethal.
Describe the step-by-step process by which electrons from glucose catabolism in the cytoplasm are transferred to the electron-transport chain in the inner mitochondrial membrane. In your answer, note whether the electron transfer at each step is direct or indirect.
