Introduction:

Viral meningitis is an infectious and highly contagious disease that causes inflammations in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and membranes of the brain. Viral meningitiscan be caused by a nonenveloped RNA (ribonucleic acid) virus. Infection from viral meningitis causes severe headaches, sore throat, rashes, chest pain, and vomiting. Its incubation period lasts from 1 to 4 weeks. From primaryinfection, it spreads to meningitis. Some of the white blood cells or WBCs (leukocytes) enter CSF with monocytes rather than neutrophils.
