Question
Chapter 26.2, Problem 2MQ
Summary Introduction
The immunoglobulin (Ig) gene superfamily comprised of genes and products of their proteins, which share structural, evolutionary, and functional features. During adaptive immune response, three dissimilar cell surface proteins directly interact with antigens and are known as immunoglobulins (Igs). Igs are generated by B cells, which interact with antigens. The family of immunoglobulins are a group of proteins such as, immunoglobulins or antibodies, major histocompatibility complex (MHC), and T cell receptors (TCRs). These proteins transmit signal for immune response.
