Concept explainers
To write:
The difference between oocyte and oviduct and explain how they are related to each other.
Introduction:
The oocytes are the immature eggs and the oviduct is the tube through which the egg passes away from an ovary and it connects the tube to the uterus. Both have a specific function in the human body. The oocytes are the immature eggs whereas the oviduct is the tube and both are the parts of the reproductive system.
Explanation of Solution
The oocytes are the immature eggs that mature eventually and become eggs. The oocyte is a reproductively active female gametocyte or germ cell. It is an embryonic egg or egg cell. During female gametogenesis, an oocyte is produced in the ovary.
Whereas the oviduct is a paired organ, which is vital for reproduction, or Fallopian tube in females. In mature females, the oviduct is the site fertilization and channel for the ovum which leads to the uterus
The oviduct, uterus, and vagina are parts of the woman breeding mechanism and are advanced organs for moving oocytes to the fertilization and implantation site, for promoting fetal growth and nutrition, and for linking developing fetus to their outer environment
Thus, oocytes and oviducts are related to each other.
