Concept explainers
To write:
The advantages for the formation of one egg and polar bodies as compared to four eggs.
Introduction:
A polar body is a tiny haploid cell that, during oogenesis, simultaneously forms an egg cell, but which usually cannot be fertilized. Sometimes they are uniformly separated as certain diploid cells of animals are exposed to cytokinesis during meiosis to create egg cells.
Explanation of Solution
The formation of one egg and polar bodies is more beneficial as compared to four eggs because one egg with more security and nutrients is more favorable for growth than four eggs. One egg cell occurs due to meiosis consists of cytoplasm, nutrients. If there would have four eggs and the eggs are fertilized, it would be impossible for the mother to carry four embryos.
Thus, this is the advantage for the formation of one egg and polar bodies as compared to four eggs.
