Progesterone is a progestin and estradiol is a major estrogen. The ovaries and testes that is the gonads produce progesterone and estrogen hormones. The hypersecretion of estrogen and progesterone causes premature sexual development. The hypo-secretion of these hormones inhibits sexual development.
