Introduction:

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic defect. It is an inherited life-threatening disorder that affects the lungs and the digestive system. The most common mutation which leads to cystic fibrosis is the deletion of the phenylalanine 508. Cystic fibrosis is a recessive disease. A person having a mutation in both copies of the CFTR (cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator) gene shows cystic fibrosis.
