Assume that the ratio of moles of Cl to moles of Cu are 2.7.  If we can represent the formula by CuClx, what is the value for x?  Round your answer to the nearest whole number. Do NOT include units.  So, if you think the formula is CuCl6, you enter the number 6.
    a) What is the mass, in grams, of 5.000 moles of carbon atoms? b)What is the average mass, in grams, of a)one helium atom? b)one potassium atom? c. How many sodium atoms are there in 6.00 moles of sodium? d. a)How many moles of sodium atoms are there in100.0g of sodium?b)How many sodium atoms are there in100.0g of sodium? e. Calculate the number of moles in 50.7grams of hydrogen.
For instance, if you consider the different molecules of gas that exist separately as the air you breathe 4.   Welders use helium (He) and argon (Ar) gases to blow over the metal during the welding process.  Why would they want to use these gases?5.   If 10 atoms of magnesium (Mg) and 10 atoms of chlorine (Cl) could bump into each other, could they combine to form a substance? ______________How many molecules would be made? ________________________Would there be any atoms left over? __________________________Which ones? ______________How many?   ________________________6.   My friend, the inventor, says that she has just made a translucent, light-weight metal by combining aluminum with helium and silicon.  She wants me to invest $10,000 in the process and promises that we will be millionaires in only six months.  What do you think I should do?…

If one can find the ratio of the number of moles of the elements in a compound to one another, one can find the formula of the compound. In a certain compound of copper and oxygen, CuxOy, we find that a sample weighing 0.9573g contains 0.7649gCu. a. How many moles of Cu are there in the sample? (MolesofCu=massofCumolarmassofCu) _moles b. How many gram of O are there in the sample? The mass of the sample equals the mass of the Cu plus the mass of O. _g c. How many moles of O are there in the sample. _moles d. What is the mole ratio (molesofCu/molesofO) in the sample? _:1 e. What is the formula of the oxide? The atom ratio equals the mole ratio and is expressed using the smallest integers possible. _ f. What is the molar mass of the copper oxide? _g/mol
According to the law of conservation of mass, mass cannot be gained or destroyed in a chemical reaction. Why can't you simply add the masses of two reactants to determine the total mass of product? Choose the best answer and explain. One of the reactants could be present in excess, and not all of it will be used to make the product(s). The masses of the reactants must be converted to moles first and then added. Not all chemical reactions follow the law of conservation of mass, especially ones with mixed physical states present. The masses of the two reactants cannot be added until they are each multiplied by their coefficient in the balanced equation. It is only the molar masses that are conserved in chemical reactions, not the actual mass amounts given in the laboratory.
