Explanation:

Consider the given figure:

Now it can be observed that $\overline{TK}$ is a segment whose one end point T lie on the circle but the other end point K does not lie on the circle, in fact it lie in the interior of the circle.

So by above definition, $\overline{TK}$ is not a chord.
