Summary Introduction

To determine:

The events of meiosis and also identify the stage at which homologous chromosomes separate.

Introduction:

Meiosis is a specialized type of meiotic cell division in which a diploid nucleus divides twice, producing four haploid nuclei and cytokinesis, which packages the four nuclei into separate cells. The meiosis includes two steps: the first division of meiosis which separates the pairs of homologous chromosomes and the second division of meiosis separates the chromatids into independent chromosomes.
