Chapter 12, Problem 8RQ
Summary Introduction

To review:

The determination of a transcript’s start site.

Introduction:

Transcription is a cellular process in which the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) sequence of a gene is copied to produce a RNA (ribonucleic acid) molecule. RNA polymerase acts as the main transcription enzyme. Transcription of DNA to RNA occurs in three stages: initiation, elongation, and termination. Initiation is the beginning of transcription, elongation is the addition of nucleotides, and termination is the last stage in which the RNA molecule is released.
