The reason for easiness in floating in Dead sea water.
Answer to Problem 45R
The humans can easily float in the Dead Sea because of greater buoyant force by the dense seawater.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The buoyant force exerted by the fluid depends on the density of the fluid. The density of the fluid increase due to mixing of the impurity in the fluid.
The water in the Dead Sea is very salty. The salt acts as the impurity that increases the density of the water in Dead Sea. As the density of the water becomes higher than the density of the human body, the water in the Dead Sea exerts buoyant force much greater than the weight of the human body.
Conclusion:
Thus, the humans can easily float in the Dead Sea because of greater buoyant force by the dense seawater.
