Introduction:
The density of a substance is defined as the ratio of mass to volume of the substance.
If the density of a substance less than that of density of water it floats on surface of the water. If the density of a substance greater than that of density of water it sinks into the water.
Thus, the density of wood block that floats on the water has less density than that of density of water.
While the wood block which sinks into the water has greater density than that of density of water.
Conclusion:
Thus, the floating block has less density than water, and the block, which sinks into the water, has greater density than water.
