Concept explainers
The effect on the volume of the gas due to decrease in pressure and increase in temperature.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The ideal gas equation describes the effect of change of pressure, volume and temperature of the gas.
Write the expression of the ideal gas equation.
Where,
- P is the pressure of the gas.
- V is the volume of the gas.
- T is the temperature of the gas.
- R is the gas constant.
The pressure and volume of the gas varies inversely with the pressure of the gas. If the pressure of the gas decreased, the volume of the gas increase because the gas expands on increasing temperature and decreasing the pressure.
Conclusion:
Thus, the volume of the gas increases due to decrease in pressure and increase in the temperature.
