Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was developed by Kary Mullis in 1985. It is a technique, which is used to amplify DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). PCR can create millions of copies of desired DNA sequence from a small amount of DNA. PCR is almost similar to DNA replication, but the process takes place in vitro.
