Introduction:

Autophagy is defined as a self-degradation pathway that involves degradation of components of the cells by hydrolytic enzymes. These enzymes are usually secreted by lysosomes. It also helpsto maintain vital functions by providing a recycling mechanism. It also helps in the destruction of foreign particles and cellular remodeling.
