Question
Chapter 15, Problem 13RQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
The major molecules that are involved in the excretion of nitrogen.
Introduction:
Excretion is defined as the process by which wasteful products are eliminated from the body. All living organisms have their own specific mode of excretion, and the wasteful products differ from organism to organism. These excretory products can be uric acid, urea, or ammonium depending on the organism. Aquatic invertebrates excrete ammonia, terrestrial organisms, like amphibians and mammals, excrete urea, and organisms including birds, lizards, and insects excrete uric acid so as to conserve water.
