Explanation of Solution

Given:

The distance of 110 cd light source from screen is 1.0 m .

Formula used:

The expression for the point source illuminance is,

E=P4πr2

Here, P is the luminous flux of the light source and r is the distance of the object is from the light source.

Calculation:

The luminous flux of the light source is,

P=4π(intensity of flux)P=4π×110 cd×1 lm1 cdP=1.4×103 lm

The point source illuminance at 1.0 m is,

E=P4πr2E=1.4×103 lm4π×(1.0m)2E=111 lm

Similarly, calculate the point source illuminance for every meter of increasing distance up to 7.0m as shown in table below.
