Redundancy is the property of genetic code and is also referred to as degeneracy of the genetic code. In this, one amino acid is specified by more than one codon. The wobble hypothesis explains the reason behind the recognition of multiple numbers of codons by a single tRNA (transfer ribonucleic acid) molecule.
