The use of enzyme inhibitors in the treatment of HIV needs to be explained by giving specific example of a drug and enzyme inhibited.
Concept introduction:
Enzyme inhibitors are molecule that decreases the activity of that enzyme to which it binds. When these inhibitors bind to an enzyme, stops the substrate to enter into the active site of enzyme. And hinder the enzyme from catalyzing any reaction. Binding of inhibitors with enzymes can be reversible or irreversible.
