Answer to Problem 14RQ

When caffeine is injected to body, nervousactivity is increased by release of neurotransmitter known as norepinephrine.

Explanation of Solution

When caffeine is ingested in the body, it reaches to the cell membrane where stress neurons are present, this activates the stress neuron. From this point nerve impulse is generated which reaches to synaptic clefts through the synaptic cell. When a nerve impulse reaches to synaptic cleft releases a bubble-like material known as norepinephrine (neurotransmitter). The neurotransmitter binds to receptor sites which are located on organ and muscles. This affects bodily responses as the increased oxygen level in lever causes heart attack, excitement level, fear.

Conclusion:

Therefore, when caffeine is injected to body, nervous activity is increased by release of neurotransmitter known as norepinephrine.
