Calculation:

Consider the provided system of equations as,

  −5x+y−4z=602x+4y+3z=−126x−3y−2z=−52

Recall that a system of equations with three variables can be solved by elimination method and substitution method. Select any two pairs of equations from the system and eliminate the same variable by adding or subtracting and then simplify it.

So, multiply the first equation by 3 and then add resulting equation and the third equation to eliminate y .

  3(−5x+y−4z)=3(60)−15x+3y−12z=180

Now add this equation and the third equation as,

  −15x+3y−12z=180(+)6x−3y−2z=−52−9x−14z=128

Now, multiply first equation by −4 and add resulting equation and second equation to eliminate y .

  −4(−5x+y−4z)=−4(60)20x−4y+16z=−240

Add second equation and the resulting equation as,

  20x−4y+16z=−240(+)2x+4y+3z=−1222x+19z=−252

Multiply −9x−14z=128 by 22 and 22x+19z=−252 by 9 to eliminate y as,

  22(−9x−14z)=22(128)−198x−308z=2816

  9(22x+19z)=9(−252)198x+171z=−2268

Add both the equations and solve to find the value of z ,

  −198x−308z=2816(+)198x+171z=−2268−137z=548

Simplify −137z=548 as,

  −137z=548z=548−137z=−4

Substitute z=−4 in 22x+19z=−252 to get the value of x ,

  22x+19(−4)=−25222x−76=−25222x=−176x=−8

Now, substitute x=−8 and z=−4 in equation second to get the value of y as,

  2(−8)+4y+3(−4)=−12−16+4y−12=−124y=16y=4

To check whether the solution set is correct, substitute the values of x , y and z in first equation as,

  −5x+y−4z=60−5(−8)+4−4(−4)=6040+4+16=6060=60

Since, left-hand side is equal to right-hand side; the solution set is true for all the equations.

Thus, the solution set of the system of equations is (−8,4,−4).
