In humans, when the fetus adheres to the uterus walls during the pregnancy, it is termed as implantation. During the prenatal development stage, the conceptus is termed as the blastocyst. Due to the adhesion of uterus wall with fetus, the fetus is able to receive oxygen and nutrients from the mother to develop.
