Chapter 7, Problem 6RQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
The mechanism of topoisomerases and the drug that targets them.
Introduction:
Topoisomerase is an enzyme responsible for the unwinding of supercoiled DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). Supercoiling is helpful in packing the long strands of DNA in a compact form. Topoisomerases play a major role in the replication of DNA. There are two types of topoisomerases, namely type 1 and type 2 topoisomerase.
