The variation in the number of chromosome or chromosome set gives rise to genetic imbalances.
These can be categorized in 2 ways:Euploidy: When a complete set of chromosomes is duplicated or deleted, it is called euploidy. Aneuploidy: When one or more chromosomes of a set are lost or gained, it is called aneuploidy.
