The genetic material of all the living organism is the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and RNA (ribonucleic acid). This genetic material contains information which is passed on to the next generation. In prokaryotes, genetic material is found freely in the cell while in eukaryotes the genetic material is enclosed inside the nucleus.
