Explanation of Solution

The nervous system is divided into two types CNS and PNS. The central nervous system consists of the brain and spinal cord and the peripheral nervous system consists of nerves and ganglia. The classifications of the terms between PNS and CNS is as follows:

    Peripheral Nervous systemCentral nervous system
Autonomic nervous system: it is a part of the nervous system involved in the control of involuntary activities.
Parasympathetic nervous system: it is a part of the autonomic nervous system that controls the body activity while resting.
Somatic nervous system: it is a part of PNS that controls the movement of the skeletal muscles and voluntary activities.
Sympathetic Nervous system: it is the part of the autonomic nervous system involved in response to stress and flight or fight response.
Cerebrum: it is a part of the frontal brain involved in thinking, movement and voluntary activity of the body.
Hypothalamus: it is a small region of the brain and plays an important role in hormone-releasing.
Medulla oblongata: it is a part of the brain stem that is involved in the basic function of the autonomic nervous system such as vasodilation, breathing, coughing and swallowing.
Pons: it is a group of nerves present in the brainstem and acts as a connection between the cerebrum and cerebellum.
