Introduction:
Sensory receptors are basically the dendrites of sensory neurons. These receptors function to receive information from the stimulus. Five main types of sensory receptors are, pain receptors, chemoreceptors, mechanoreceptors, thermoreceptors, and photoreceptors.
Explanation of Solution
Gustatory receptor cells are found in the mouth. Taste buds found on the tongue contain these receptor cells. These receptors are sensitive to various chemicals found in the food and release neurotransmitters depending on quantity of chemical in food.
Olfactory receptor cells are found in the superior nasal cavity. These receptors can detect the smell of air molecules entering the nasal cavity.
