Chapter 7, Problem 4FIB
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Photosynthesis in plants consists of the light reactions and the Calvin cycle. In the light reactions during photosynthesis, chlorophyll and other molecules located in the thylakoid membranes of the chloroplast absorb sunlight energy and convert it into chemical energy. In Calvin cycle, the carbon is captured from atmospheric carbon dioxide by using energy harnessed during light reactions.

Students have asked these similar questions
During photosynthesis, low energy electrons are struck by light, bumped up to higher energy levels, and then incorporated into organic molecules. Where does the chloroplast or Cyanobacterium obtain these electrons?       From carbon dioxide     From sunlight     From water      From ATP
Which of the following is FALSE about photosynthesis?   Group of answer choices: -Organisms that can utilize light energy as a food source are called autotrophs. -Photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplasts. -The light phase of photosynthesis produces ATP and NADH. -Carbohydrates, with the aid of energy and reducing power produced from the light phase, are synthesized from carbon dioxide and water.
The basic raw materials for photosynthesis are:     sugar and carbon dioxide.     water and carbon dioxide.     oxygen and water.     sugar and water.     oxygen and carbon dioxide
