Concept explainers
To write:An experiment to test the ability of butterflies a real flower and an artificial flower
Introduction:For plants to reproduce and generate new seeds, pollination is necessary for more plants. Pollination occurs as pollen is moved from the anther to the stigma of the flower.Through this experiment, we will learn what role color plays in the process of pollination. Incidentally, we'll also find out how butterflies can tell the difference between real and artificial flowers.
Explanation of Solution
- First, we'll paint the white-colored flowers artificially to replicate the color of the naturally occurring colors of the flower used in this experiment.
- Floral coloring is simple to use and involves merely mixing with hot water and allowing the pigment to soak up and remove the flower.
- When all the flowers have been dyed it's time to try the experiment.
- Place the flowers in rows in a greenhouse, depending on the completion of the experiment and color.
- Let the butterflies come into the greenhouse.
- The monitoring of the cycles for at least two weeks is more effective. The longer the tests are, the more precise.
Thus, it concludes that the bright colors and sweet scents of the nectar produce by real flowers will attract the butterflies.
