To discuss:
Three forms of inorganic phosphate, physiological function and homeostasis of phosphate ions.
Introduction:
The proper composition and balance of fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base are required to regulate the cellular functions of the body. The urinary, digestive, endocrine, lymphatic, nervous, cardiovascular system and so forth maintain these balances.
Fluid balance: Equal maintenance of fluid gain and loss; and proper distribution of fluid in the body.
Electrolyte balance: Equal maintenance of absorbed electrolytes by the small intestine and loss of electrolytes through urine in the body.
Acid-base balance: The maintenance of the stable body pH.

- Practical work. Work 1. Water spaces of the organism. Intracellular water space Extracellular 40% water space 20% Water in the human body is about 60% of body weight and is distributed in two main water spaces: intracellular (40%) and extracellular (20%). Water of the extracellular water space is in the composition of blood plasma, intercellular fluid, lymph and a small amount in the composition of transcellular fluids - cerebrospinal fluid, aqueous humor of the eye, joint fluid, etc. The fluids of these spaces have (despite 1 the different composition of electrolytes and other substances) the same osmotic pressure (they are isoosmic). The osmotic concentration of blood plasma lies in the range from 285 to 310 mosmol/l. H,O When violations of water-salt balance, for example, intake of an excess amount of water or osmotically active substances into the body occurs, water is redistributed along the osmotic gradient between the H,O Nat fluids of the internal environment of the body and…arrow_forwardLearning Task 2.
