The phospholipid bilayer is the component of the cell membrane. The lipid bilayer consists of both hydrophobic and hydrophilic groups. It contains hydrophobic tail and hydrophilic head. It contains fatty acid groups in the hydrophobic part and phosphate group in the hydrophilic tail part.
