According to Dalton’s atomic theory, all atoms of a certain elements are same but different from another element. Basically atoms differ from type to type by their number of protons and neutrons present in the nucleus and number of electrons. In other words different types of atoms have different atomic numbers, but they may have same number of atomic masses in their isotopes. In modern periodic table also the elements are organized according to their increasing number of atomic number.
