Chapter 43.1, Problem 2RIA
Summary Introduction
Chlorination is a chemical procedure which is usually used to disinfect drinking water and kill microorganisms that are present in it, the killing effect occurs in seconds. Mostly chlorine, chlorine dioxide or other such derivatives of chlorine are used for this purpose. Chlorination is although a very effective measure of disinfecting the drinking water but it does not come without the drawbacks. If it is not administered in the right manner it leads to the formation of hazardous chemicals which may have carcinogenic properties.
