Introduction:
Glucose-6-phosphatase is the enzyme that carries out the hydrolysis of glucose-6-phosphate. The end products of the hydrolysis area phosphate group and free glucose. The ∆Go’ for the hydrolysis of G6P is –12.5 kJ/mol (kilojoule per mole).The ∆Go’ for the hydrolysis of G1P is –20.9 kJ/mol.
