Question
Chapter 10, Problem 30RQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
The significance behind a series of oxidation processes in the electron transport system rather than just one to capture energy.
Introduction:
The ETC (electron transport chain) of mitochondria is embedded in the inner membrane. The ETC includes a series of enzyme complexes arranged in tandem with each other. There are a total of 4 respiratory enzyme complexes that are involved in the oxidative phosphorylation. There is an ATP (adenosine triphosphate) synthase enzyme present alongside with the ETC.

Why is the Krebs cycle considered part of aerobic metabolism, even though O2 does not appear in any of its catalytic reaction?
True or False.
The Krebs cycle is considered to be an anabolic pathway because some of the reactions are considered reversible.
Why does rubisco have such a low catalytic rate (that is, why is it so slow)?
