Introduction:
The ETC (electron transport chain) of the mitochondria is embedded in the inner membrane. The ETC includes a series of enzyme complexes arranged in tandem with each other and alsohas an ATP (adenosine triphosphate) synthase enzyme present alongside with it. These enzymes are involved in the generation of ATP, the energy currency of the cell, by the process of oxidative phosphorylation.
