The distribution 3 is skewed towards right which means that at 36 out of 77 local supermarkets the cereal brands with less sugar are kept on top shelf. The distribution 2 is skewed towards left which means that at 21 out of 77 local supermarkets the cereals with high sugar coat are kept on middle shelf. And the distribution 1 is again skewed towards left which shows that at 20 out of 77 local supermarkets the cereals with high sugar coat are kept on lower shelf. All the three distributions are unimodal. The range of all the three distributions is almost same.

The dotplot distribution partially supports the claim that supermarkets tend to put sugary kids cereals on lower shelves where the kids can see them because the distribution 1 which represent the cereals on bottom shelf is skewed towards right showing that many local supermarkets put less sugary cereals on bottom shelf. Distribution 2 shows the sleekness towards left showing that many local supermarkets put more sugary cereals on middle shelf.

The claim appears to be true; because the sugar levels for the middle shelf are higher (more dots are to the right than for the bottom and upper shelf).

It is noted that the bottom shelf contains mostly low sugar levels, while the top shelf contains mostly moderate sugar levels.
