Introduction:
A tissue is a group of cells that has its own specific function. The four basic types of tissues in the body are epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue, and nervous tissue. Epithelial tissue is the uppermost layer and acts as the protective layer. Connective tissue supports other tissues. Muscle tissue helps in body movement. Nervous system helps in transmission of information.
Explanation of Solution
Cartilage is a smooth elastic tissue, that has rubber like padding that protects the end of long bones at the joints. It also acts as the structural component for rib cage, nose, invertebral discs, ear, and the bronchial tubes.
