Explanation of Solution

Compact bone − It is also termed as cortical bone. It is made up of denser material, so that it can create harder portion of the skeleton. Compact bone mainly forms the cortex, outer harder portion of bones.

Osteocyte − These cells are found in the mineralized bone matrix. These are the mostly found cells in the adult skeleton.

Spongy bone − It is also termed as cancellous bone. It is porous bone and contains red bone marrow. It is mainly found at the end of long bones.

Red bone marrow − It is found in the flat bones like breast bone, hip bone, skull and shoulder blades. It helps in the production of blood cells.

Yellow bone marrow − This bone marrow helps in the storage of fats. It contains marrow stromal cells, that form fat, bone, and cartilage.

Osteoblast − These are mesenchymal cells that help in synthesis of bone matrix and coordination of skeleton mineralization.

Ossification − It is the process of bone formation. It begins at around third month of fetus and is completed in late adolescence.

Osteoclast − It is a bone cell that breaks bone tissue. It helps in maintenance, remodeling, and repair of the vertebral bones.

Ligament − It is a connective tissues that connects two bones. It also helps in holding the internal organs.
